Clay pipes used by Kongana Siddhar to produce gold with herbal leaves still exist in the hill.
There is a cave in the hill where Kongana Siddhar performed penance and had the darshan of Lord Shiva. He used clay tubes and passed air through mouth breathing to make gold by pouring the essence of herbal leaves. There are some such clay tubes still in the hill. Hence the place is called Oodhiyur Malai and also Kongana Giri linked with the life of Kongana Siddha.
