Navagraha Temples





Navagraha temples are temples devoted to Navagraha.
near Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu.The temples were built earlier,back to 7th-9th century.

Angaarakan Navagrahastalam -- Vaitheeswaran Kovil

TIRUNAGESHWARAM
This is a vast temple known for its shrine to Raahu.


TIRUNALLAR
This is the only temple that is dedicated to Lotd Sani  ( Planet Saturn ). 


KEEZH PERUMPALLAM
This is an ancient Saivite temple where legend has it that Ketu.


VAITHEESWARAN KOIL
Within the Viatheeswaran Koil, there is a special shrine dedicated to Ankarakan or Chvaai ( Mars ).



SURYANAR KOIL
Situated 21 kilometres from Swamimalai.  This temple is dedicated to Sun God – Surya.



ALANGUDI
This is regarded as a “Gurustalam”  (Abode of Jupiter)  where Lord Dakshinamurthy is held in great reverence. 


THINGALOOR
Dedicated to the moon  ( Chandra in Sanskrit and Thingal and Tamil).


KANCHANUR
This Shivastalam is associated with  Sukran  ( Venus ).


TIRUVENKADU
Dedicated to Budhan (Mercury).
